Since 2019, the open-topic Clusters4Future competition has developed into an important instrument in the region-oriented innovation promotion of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The competition was designed in several stages: 15 finalists were initially selected from 117 submissions in the second round of the competition. The seven winners are expected to start the first of up to three possible implementation phases as new future clusters in February 2023. The future clusters take advantage of a regional environment and create new interfaces for exchange between different disciplines, users, providers and producers with innovative forms of cooperation and experimental spaces. <\/p>\n

The second round of the Future Clusters Initiative (Clusters4Future) competition began in November 2020. From a total of 117 entries submitted, a jury of experts recommended 15 proposals for funding for a six-month concept development phase. September 2021 marked the start of the concept phase for the 15 Future Cluster finalists, from which the final Future Clusters for the second round will be selected at the selection meeting on 11 and 12 July 2022. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

An independent, high-calibre jury of experts led by Prof. Dr. Michael Kaschke and Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolff selected seven winners from the finalists. Prof. Dr. Martin Faulstich was also a member of the high-calibre jury of experts<\/span><\/span>. <\/p>\n
