Thermal waste treatment – development of plant capacity utilization up to 2040<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column column_width_percent=”100″ gutter_size=”2″ override_padding=”yes” column_padding=”1″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”2\/3″ uncode_shortcode_id=”111660″][vc_custom_heading uncode_shortcode_id=”861229″]Objectives:[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”182856″]The Interest Group of Thermal Waste Treatment Plants in Germany (ITAD), in cooperation with Prognos AG and Prof. Dr. Martin Faulstich, has conducted its own study to investigate “Prospects for thermal waste treatment – Roadmap 2040<\/em>\u201c vorgelegt, in der die Entwicklung der Auslastung von Anlagen bis zum Jahr 2040 beschrieben und m\u00f6gliche Ver\u00e4nderungen und Herausforderungen dargelegt werden.<\/p>\n

The study comes to the conclusion that full capacity utilization<\/strong> of the thermal waste treatment plants (TAB) can be expected at least until 2040. There could even be a lack of capacity in 2040 if there is no further expansion. They are indispensable for the long-term security of supply and disposal and for citizens and companies with electricity and heat, as well as a sink for pollutants and for the hygienization of waste.<\/p>\n

From ITAD’s point of view, TABs can contribute even more to climate protection and a climate-neutral Germany in the future, e.g. by producing more hydrogen and thus supporting the German hydrogen strategy. Waste incineration is also an important building block for recycling. Energy recovery and material recycling are not mutually exclusive: Increased recycling can create free capacity for waste from other disposal channels.<\/p>\n
